photo of JoAnn Burgess JoAnn M. Burgess is an Organization Development Consultant with over 25 years experience in Leadership/Management Development, Training and Consulting. She has owned and operated Burgess Consulting for over fifteen years and worked internally for over fifteen years. The common themes of her work are helping people and organizations move through change and transition and enhancing communication skills in the workplace.

Her areas of focus include the following:

  • Executive and Professional Coaching - working with individual Executive and professionals to enhance their leadership effectiveness
  • Leadership and Management Training - working with new and existing leaders and managers to identify strengths and enhance their overall skills and effectiveness as an organizational leader
  • Team Development - helping Teams move through predictable stages of growth and development

Early in her career, JoAnn worked as a Manager of Training and Development and Internal Consultant for Advanced Technology Laboratories (ATL/now Phillips Medical).  Her commitment to leadership coaching, team development and training, and management development and training, was instrumental in transitioning the organization from an individual contributor environment to a team environment.  In her career, JoAnn also served as an adjunct faculty member for Bellevue Community College where she has taught classes in their Leadership and Supervisory Series for over six years.  Her background also includes a human resource system's development perspective and outplacement/career development coaching.  JoAnn serves on the Curriculum Committee of Leadership Eastside (a non-profit community leadership development organization) since it was started over four years ago. 

JoAnn is certified in the use and delivery of the Bar-On EQ-i Emotional Intelligence Assessment for Business and Leadership, as well as the 360-degree Clark Wilson Leadership Assessment Tools. She is also certified to deliver numerous management and professional development workshops.

JoAnn earned a Masters Degree in Organization System's Renewal - Whole System's Design and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. JoAnn has extensive post-graduate education in professional and organizational development.

Bob Burgess is an Organization Development consultant with over 30 years of experience working both internally and externally with organizations. He works extensively in the following areas:

  • Leadership and Management Development
  • Team Building
  • Retreat Facilitation

Earlier in his career, Bob worked for eleven years as a manager with AT&T in Marketing and Sales. He was also responsible for the development and implementation of Leadership and Management programs for the Bell System. In addition, has worked as a Manager of Organization Development for a large national, multi-division company.

As a consultant, he was a partner in a large Management Consulting firm, which included working with Edward Deming on efforts to implement Total Quality Management. He has owned and operated his own consulting business for 18 years.

He has been a keynote speaker at annual conferences and conventions and has taught a ten week course on Leadership and Organizational Development at the University of Washington. He continues to be a guest lecturer in the School of Business.

Bob works with a variety of industries in both the private and public sector. He has assisted small and large national and international organizations in clarifying direction and identifying and removing barriers that prevent them from maximizing performance.

He holds an MBA from the University of Puget Sound and an undergraduate degree in Marketing and Industrial Psychology from the University of Oregon. Bob has extensive post-graduate education in professional and organizational development.
