Strategic Planning

There is an old adage that says "If you don't know where you are going, then any road will take you there". Strategic Planning is an essential process that allows you to look at factors in the external environment that are or will impact, either in a positive or negative way, the success of your organization. These factors are the foundation for clarifying who you are, where you want to go, and the actions that need to be taken to insure your success.

At Burgess Consulting, we work with organizations to guide them through the Strategic Planning Process. The following are part of the process:

  1. Gathering information regarding the external and internal environment using a SWOT analysis. This aligns the organizations (S) Strengths and (W) Weaknesses to the (O) Opportunities or (T) Threats identified in the external environment.
  2. Developing Key Initiatives and Goals and Objectives that will guide decision making and actions.
  3. Developing Action Plans for Execution.
  4. Aligning the Organization Structure, Processes and Systems to support the Strategic Plan.
  5. Enhancing Leadership skills to lead the organization through change and transition.
  6. Building High Performing Teams to deliver desired results.
  7. Developing Communication Strategies to make sure that everyone in the organization clearly understands where the organization is going and how you are going to get there.
